Capptoo and Screver partnered with a pharmaceutical client to create an interactive survey that supports early lung cancer detection. The platform guides patients through simple, compliant questions, recommends next steps, and even enables direct appointment scheduling.

Lung cancer remains a serious challenge for modern medicine. Addressing it requires a multifaceted approach, beginning with early detection and symptom awareness.

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), the most common type, can often be treated surgically – up to 80% of cases – depending on the tumor’s size and whether the cancer has spread. Early detection significantly improves the chances of successful treatment.

Our efforts to raise awareness about the dangers of lung cancer focus on two key initiatives:

  • A Digital Awareness Campaign; you can find out more here
  • An Interactive Symptom Survey

Here is the story of our approach to the interactive survey creation.

Interactive Symptom Survey

Capptoo and Screver have joined forces with our pharmaceutical partner to develop a straightforward yet effective survey for early lung cancer symptom detection.

The Screver survey solution allows patients to evaluate whether their symptoms warrant consultation with a healthcare professional (HCP).

The survey’s structure layout guides users through straightforward, logical questions, ensuring they can identify necessary next steps. The intelligent configuration streamlines the process, presenting more profound questions only when relevant and needed. Based on the results, the system recommends actionable next steps, such as scheduling an HCP visit.

In case the end result is a recommendation to visit HCP, users are able to do it directly from the survey by easily clicking the link that would redirect them to the scheduling platform. The booking platform sends then a push notification to Screver in case somebody booked an appointment directly from the survey.

This platform manifests how intricate logic systems can ensure accurate and meaningful data collection. Each question and response aligns with a predefined framework, minimizing ambiguity and ensuring reliability.

Additionally, the survey generates a PDF report summarizing the patient’s answers. This document is a helpful resource for HCPs, providing initial insights to guide consultations. Creating a survey of this caliber requires a dedicated, multidisciplinary team.

Our design and development experts worked closely with the client to deliver a user-friendly platform that securely collects data. The content was carefully crafted in collaboration with the client’s medical advisory team, ensuring compliance with industry standards and making the survey suitable for medical analysis.

The survey’s base logic follows a pattern designed by our client’s medical team and refined by the screver data specialists. This doublecheck and double-design method ensures the highest possible precision in data collection, ensuring that the logic pattern of the survey recommends the proper actions at the end.

This collaboration highlights how Capptoo/Screver can effectively partner with pharmaceutical organizations to deliver impactful platforms.

Results

Over 20,000 individuals have participated in the lung cancer symptom survey, with a completion rate of 63%. Additionally, 11% of users downloaded the PDF report to share with their HCPs.

These numbers demonstrate the survey’s success in raising awareness among patients and the general public. Providing a simple yet comprehensive tool, we help identify potential symptoms early, supporting timely medical intervention.

Our partnership with the pharmaceutical client represents a meaningful step in the fight against lung cancer, fostering greater awareness and early detection.
